Price Southern’s journey reflects how growth in engineering takes shape over time. From starting as an intern to building a career, Price’s path demonstrates how opportunities, collaboration, and a willingness to take on new challenges can shape a meaningful career.
While earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Price began her career as a Process Engineering Intern in 2012.
She later transitioned into a full-time role as a Chemical Process Engineer, then expanded her experience into a Construction Project Engineer position. Today, she serves as a Chemical Process Engineer III / Design Project Engineer.
Each role has added a new layer of perspective, strengthening her ability to contribute across different parts of a project.
“I have been exposed to many aspects of a project throughout my time at Carroll Daniel and like being able to work with all engineering disciplines as well as clients and vendors throughout the life of a project,” Price shared.
That experience has given Price a broader understanding of how projects take shape over time and how collaboration across teams supports each stage of the work.

“Seeing a project through the proposal and bid phase all the way through mechanical completion is rewarding and gives me an appreciation for how all roles work together across the company.”
As Price’s career continues to evolve, her story reflects the impact of staying curious, embracing challenges, and investing in the people around you. Her experience is a reminder that lasting growth comes not only from the work itself, but from the perspective and relationships built along the way.
