A Safety-Focused Culture

The Carroll Daniel team at Seckinger took safety culture to a new level by partnering with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other organizations on the project. We welcomed safety officers to the jobsite for voluntary annual inspections, and quarterly and monthly meetings to discuss safety on the project. Through the collaboration, we provided thousands of hours of safety training to team members at Seckinger, including an on-site fall protection demonstration.

Maximizing Efficiency, Schedule and Workforce

During the busiest part of construction, about 250 team members were working daily on the Seckinger project. With construction beginning during the peak of the first COVID-19 wave, early steel packages were delayed. Our team pushed ahead, maximizing productivity in areas where steel wasn’t required. Despite the material gap, the team worked roughly 625,000 total person-hours on Seckinger, delivering a premium learning atmosphere within the original schedule.

Monthly meetings were held on-site with Carroll Daniel’s site-based project team of superintendents and project managers which fostered an excellent exchange of ideas and communication that helped guarantee a successful project. Gwinnett County Public Schools considers this new school facility project a massive success, and we all look forward to working with Carroll Daniel Construction again in the future.
