At Carroll Daniel, our commitment to building extends beyond the projects we deliver and into the communities we serve.
This summer, interns joined us from across our office locations in Gainesville, Georgia, for our annual Internship Build for Better Day. Together, they spent the day volunteering with our 2026 Community Partner, Love Your Story, to support its mission of creating spaces of belonging for families impacted by disabilities and medical needs through respite housing, caregiver support, and community.
Learning the Mission
Before volunteering, our interns met with Love Your Story founder Abigail Burle, who shared the personal journey that inspired the organization’s mission. Hearing firsthand about the needs Love Your Story addresses provided valuable perspective and reinforced the purpose behind the day’s work.
Serving with Purpose
At Love Your Story’s future campus, interns cleared debris and cleaned the property, installed a roadside sign, and prepared the site for the future construction of four additional homes and a community gathering center. Seeing the vision for the future campus firsthand offered a meaningful look at the organization’s continued growth and long-term impact.
The team also volunteered at Molly’s House, Love Your Story’s first respite home, which provides families with physical and financial relief during times of medical need. Interns refreshed the outdoor spaces through landscaping and planting, helping maintain a welcoming environment for the families it serves.

Building Relationships
Opportunities like Build for Better Day strengthen relationships not only among our interns but also throughout the communities we serve.
The event allows our interns the chance to build relationships, better understand the needs of our communities, and experience the impact of serving alongside local organizations. Working alongside Abigail throughout the day reinforced that meaningful service is about people just as much as projects.
These experiences reflect Carroll Daniel’s commitment to stewardship by investing our time, talents, and resources where they can make a lasting difference.
We are grateful to Love Your Story for welcoming our interns and for the opportunity to support its mission. Together, we are helping build stronger communities—one relationship at a time.
