Project Scope
Carroll Daniel was selected to complete renovations to the historic Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, which included renovating their existing public restrooms, staff restrooms and staff locker rooms. The project involved designing and constructing showers in the staff restrooms while maintaining the office space between the staff restrooms. The main goal of these renovations was to revitalize the facilities, upgrade staff amenities, provide better lighting and bring the restrooms to ADA standards.
Working Through Unforeseen Obstacles
Since this project was completed in an occupied federal building, all work had to be done at night as to not disturb the museum employees, guests, or the many events that take place in the building’s lobby and dining area. The project team also had to comply with strict measures to protect the exhibits from any potential damage. Construction materials came in and out of the loading dock located at the back of the building, and materials that were needed in the front of the were carefully transported through the Museum. While working near the presidential archives, the project team worked with subcontractor partners to ensure that all dust was contained and that the RH/temperature in the construction area did not cause any issues for the archives.
