On a Tilt
Outside-of-the-box execution.
Tilt-Up or Tilt Wall Construction involves concrete panels that are poured on-site, utilizing wood forms and rebar, and then tilted up into place to form a building’s envelope. Some of the advantages of this technique are speed of construction and cost-effectiveness. While the technique itself is fairly standard in the industry, this project included creative architectural accents. The owner’s logo was actually cast into the wall (40’ high and 130’ long) and tilted into place, utilizing a negative mold created from Styrofoam. The final effect is a bold and dramatic statement that showcased the brand and it’s new presence in Gainesville, Georgia.
