Promoting the Arts

Carroll Daniel was selected to build the new Forsyth County Arts & Learning (FoCAL) Center in Cumming, Georgia. FoCAL is a two-story, 81,000-square-foot facility located on the campus of Forsyth County Schools’ Board of Education and Professional Development Center. Designed to support the performing arts programming of the district’s schools and the local community, the new venue includes a main theater with a stage, balcony, and orchestra pit – seating over 1,800 people and providing a space for performances, meetings, and other community events.

An Innovative Performance

Due to the complex design of the facility, the Carroll Daniel team utilized Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) tools to ensure a flawless production. The Carroll Daniel VDC team worked with subcontractor partners to coordinate work being performed by the different trades – ensuring seamless integration of their efforts. The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) allowed Carroll Daniel to create a detailed digital representation of the FoCAL center, offering a comprehensive overview of the entire project before any physical construction began.

The Project Management and Supervision provided by Carroll Daniel Construction on this project far exceeded what we have seen on typical school construction projects. They closely monitored the workmanship of their Subcontractors and ensured that project milestones were met on, or ahead of, schedule.
