OAKWOOD, GA. – On Monday, August 25, 2025, Carroll Daniel joined Hall County Schools to celebrate the ribbon cutting and dedication of the new Everwood Elementary School in Oakwood, Georgia.
During the celebration, Everwood Principal Laurie Hitzges welcomed guests, Hall County School District Superintendent Will Schofield thanked the Board of Education, and Board Chair Craig Herrington read the official proclamation. The ceremony featured special contributions from Everwood students, who led the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the school anthem, and shared their excitement for their new school home.
The 116,000-square-foot facility brings together students from Oakwood Elementary School and McEver Arts Academy under one roof, providing a modern, collaborative learning environment for the growing Hall County community. As part of Hall County’s long-term construction plan, Everwood is the district’s second replacement elementary school and was designed with future-ready learning in mind. The school features a variety of flexible learning spaces, a state-of-the-art culinary arts lab, and vibrant interior design that incorporates colors and elements from both legacy schools.
