Improving Accessibility, Connecting Communities
Renovations to Indian Creek Station feature a new pedestrian bridge that connects to Durham Park Road. The bridge improves pedestrian and bicycle access with a concrete walkway, lighting, security cameras, and benches, strengthening the station’s connection to the surrounding community while connecting residents to key transit options for generations to come.
Enhancing the Station
While the pedestrian bridge strengthens connections to the surrounding community, additional improvements enhance the station environment for transit users. Indian Creek Station renovations feature the replacement of deteriorated platform-level concrete with new architectural concrete and lighting enhancements, along with new architectural paneling throughout the station and restoration of the vaulted wood barrel ceiling. These improvements take place while maintaining station operations and supporting daily transit service.
Building Better Transit One Half at a Time
With a constant focus on safe operations and minimizing impacts to the transit system, Carroll Daniel | Moody and MARTA utilize a phased construction approach that allows one half of the platform to remain operational while work takes place on the other, supporting the safe loading and unloading of passengers throughout construction.
