PPG Paints Expansion Oakwood, Georgia

This project involved designing and building a 66,500 SF addition to an existing and occupied PPG Manufacturing and R&D facility in Oakwood, Georgia. Construction included an addition and expansion of precast/tilt buildings and installation of a new sprinkler system. The addition now houses special PPG machinery, from robots that secure lids on paint cans to ones that tightly wrap a bundle of cans in plastic. The plant makes around 100,000 gallons of paint per day, tints paint for special contractor orders, and ships them all out to stores.
