The Meaning Behind the Project

Constructed simultaneously, this new Truck Shop and Live Holding Shed were added to Wayne Farms’ processing plant in Enterprise, Alabama. The new 21,000 SF Live Holding Building includes a cooling mist system and fans. It’s part of humane-treatment enhancement efforts for animal welfare. Other elements include density reductions for the poultry house, controlled-atmosphere stunning, improved and natural lighting cycles, and environmental enrichments and will allow for audits of practices and documentation by independent third parties.

Community Impact

These projects were part of a major expansion of the Enterprise plant that accounts for the largest single economic development investment in the history of Coffee County, Alabama according to Jonathan Tullos, Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation Executive Director. The total project helped to create 400 new jobs.

We couldn’t have reached this point without a team effort.
